Introducing The End-Of-Year Content Focus Planner

The end of the year is stressful, to say the least.

When I worked in-house, there was always a million and one projects I was trying to wrap up between holidays, events, and binge-watching my favorite holiday movies.

Q4 is both reflective and fast-paced for content marketers, and I hope to make this experience a little easier this year.

Let’s Take A Look At The Content Focus Planner

I’ve built a useful 20+ page planner to get you from Thanksgiving to New Year.

I am working on a bigger B2B planner for 2026, and I wanted to get my InDesign groove back, so I decided to build something I wish I had every Q4. In the past, I’ve definitely needed a planner to help me focus on all the last-minute things that need to get done at the end of the year, from updating blog posts to planning for the year ahead.

Whether you're managing a blog, podcast, YouTube channel, or something in between, I hope this planner helps you feel a bit more confident about your end-of-year plans.

Content Focus Projects

Every week from here to the New Year, I encourage you to start with two content focus projects. Whether you are trying to get that video published or update your 2025-centered blog posts, make a big goal for the week. Underneath each content focus project, there is room to break the project down into smaller chunks that you can handle throughout the week.

To-Do Lists

If your to-do list is longer than Santa’s gift list, well, this planner page isn’t for you. 🤯

This planner has room for eight of your most pressing to-dos for the week, whether they are content or life-related. This season is so busy; add to this list throughout the week, and make sure your brain isn’t filled with tasks you hope you remember.

Seasonal Intentions

With all the ruckus happening in your life, it’s easy to forget that this is the most magical time of the year. Set a weekly intention in this portion of the weekly spread to enjoy the moment. What will you add to this space to bring a little holiday cheer into your week?

Weekly Wins

Your weekly spread can’t be just about what you did or didn’t cross off your to-do list. In the weekly wins section, you’ll detail the positives happening in your work and personal life. Celebrate yourself, you deserve it, and this is the perfect time of year to sing your own praises.

Weekly Overviews

The right-hand side of the weekly spread gives you a clear view of your upcoming week. The pages start on Monday, with weekends grouped for simplicity. Major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas are marked so you can quickly orient yourself.

Fill this space with:

  • PTO and half days

  • When freelancers or teammates go OOO

  • Content deadlines

  • Meetings

  • Holiday shopping

  • Personal reminders

It’s your snapshot of the week ahead.

Let’s Talk About The Bonuses

I love a good bonus page, so I built a few to make this planner even more useful. Let’s talk about how you can use each page as a content marketer.

Seasonal Intentions Bucket List

Like I shared earlier, it’s easy to forget just how magical this time of year is when you have a million work tasks calling your name. I wholeheartedly believe that work grows to fit the container we give it. If you don’t have something to look forward to, it’s easy to default to work mode. I built a fun list of 19 activities you can do this holiday season, so you aren’t hunched over your work computer on Christmas Eve.

End-Of-Year Content Checklist

I don’t want you to have depressing Christmas Eve plans, but I do realize there is actual work that needs to get done throughout the next few weeks.

I built a useful end-of-year content checklist bonus with tons of content plans you can make time for during the last month of the year. Some of these ideas will help you as a content manager, and some will help you as a person with marketable content skills. From updating time-sensitive references to updating your portfolio with your best work, this content checklist helps you remember all the small things you should be doing this time of year.

Now, it’s a long list, and some things won’t be relevant to you. If you don’t need to do something, skip it. I hope most of these activities are helpful, though.

Content Marketing Holiday Bingo

Last, but not least, sometimes you need a laugh. I think all content marketers can relate to a last-minute holiday campaign request or a relative asking you to help them start a blog/YouTube channel/TikTok account during a holiday dinner. I have a ton of relatable experiences on the Bingo board. If you get a Bingo, don’t forget to treat yourself to a holiday treat, because you deserve it. 😘
